Drama is a type of genre that usually deals with more serious topics rather than comedic. Drama can be categorized into many sub-categories such as soap opera, crime drama, political drama, legal drama, historical drama, teen drama, and comedy/drama (often called a “dramedy”).
Drama is very different than “action,” although action films may be dramatic and dramas may have some action. It is not uncommon for films to have more than one genre attached.
